Our volunteer Ms Nur Aqilah Faizall will be heading to Cambodia this Sunday for a 2-week art therapy programme for at-risk youths, in partnership with The Red Pencil – Humanitarian Mission and Hagar International. She will be going with 2 art therapists from The Red Pencil from 5 to 16 November 2018.
Through her works and projects she’s involved in, Aqilah aspires to create spaces of empathy by surfacing the multitudinous realities and nuances of each human experience. She works alongside refugee communities in Malaysia, namely, the Rohingya & Chin Myanmar urban refugees. Having completed her degree in Public Policy & Global Affairs, she will be pursuing her masters in art therapy next year.
This partnership between RLAF and The Red Pencil will empower 60 children affected by abuse and trafficking through art therapy. The project, named The Creative Dots will be done in 3 phases and will end in November 2019.
RLAF wishes Aqilah the best of trips and experience in Cambodia.
