Posted @withregram • zaqym Today, I had the privilege of joining my colleagues, Mayor Alex Yam and Ms. Hany Soh at the closing ceremony of our humanitarian aid campaign, Marsiling-Yew Tee GIVES. Over the course of this one-month campaign, together we raised more than $600,000 and sold over 3,000 briyani meals, thanks to the incredible generosity of our community.

What a journey it has been! We are truly humbled by the overwhelming support we’ve received.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being with us throughout this past month. Your kindness has truly touched lives and made a meaningful impact, showing the strength of a united community.

Let’s keep this spirit of giving alive. Thank you for making a difference!

We are profoundly touched by the generosity and compassion of everyone who has contributed, as well as the community partners and mosques who have played an essential role in spreading awareness and encouraging others to give.

Every dollar raised brings us one step closer to alleviating the suffering faced by the people of Gaza.

RLAF partnered with @humanitymatters_sg on 17 Nove

RLAF partnered with @humanitymatters_sg on 17 November to organise a vibrant street collection event that brought together 300 participants from diverse backgrounds and faiths collecting heartfelt contributions to aid children and families in Gaza.

Through the Harmony-in-Action fundraising campaign

Through the Harmony-in-Action fundraising campaign, $538,000 was raised by @harmonycirclesg to provide critical aid to children and families affected by the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

The cheque was presented to RLAF’s CEO Mr Adnan Abdul Hamid and witnessed by Minister for Culture, Community & Youth and Second Minister for Law, Mr Edwin Tong.

A heartfelt thank you to @harmonycirclesg for mobilizing support through its extensive network of religious and community organizations across Singapore. These funds will allow us to provide critical aid to children and families in Gaza, addressing urgent needs such as health, relief, and medical supplies.

More than 300 volunteers from all walks of life ca

More than 300 volunteers from all walks of life came together this weekend (1 December) to pack over 20 tonnes of relief supplies in support of Gaza’s most urgent needs. Organised by Rahmatan Lil Alamin Foundation (RLAF) and @humanitymatters_sg (HM), the effort brought together students, professionals, retirees, and homemakers of all ages, faiths, and races.

Their collective dedication filled two 40-foot containers with essentials to address healthcare, hydration, hunger, and hygiene for the affected community. With the support of Pacific International Lines (PIL), these supplies will be shipped to Jordan for onward transfer to Gaza in January 2025.

Thank you to every volunteer for your unwavering spirit and compassion! Your efforts have created a ripple of hope for those in need.

Without access to schooling, young people face inc

Without access to schooling, young people face increased risk of exploitation, child labor, early marriage, and other forms of abuse—and are at risk of dropping out of school permanently. Parents report feelings of isolation and frustration in their children as the situation continues without routine and activities to help them develop.

Supported by the Rahmatan Lil Alamin Foundation (RLAF), together with @unicef , 8,500 children aged 7–13 years are receiving regular lessons in math, English, Arabic, and Science through the Temporary Learning Spaces (TLS) programme.

The funds raised were from the previous fundraising this year ‘Ramadan Appeal for Gaza’ from 20–26 March 2024.

Our commitment to Gaza continues. RLAF’s Humanitarian Aid for Gaza 2024 fundraising campaign is ongoing from 18 September to 13 December 2024, and we encourage everyone to contribute to this cause ❤️

Supporting Gaza’s Children Through Education 📚

Earlier this year during Ramadan, RLAF collaborated with the United Nations Children’s Fund (@UNICEF) for the ‘Ramadan Appeal for Gaza’ from 20–26 March 2024.

The funds raised are being used to establish Temporary Learning Spaces (TLS), ensuring education continues for children in Gaza despite the immense challenges they face.

Children like 10-year-old Laith, who was displaced from northern Gaza, now have access to safe learning environments at the Asdaa Learning Space. This initiative supports around 3,500 students, offering not only education but also critical support services through 130 dedicated teachers, administrators, and social workers—many of whom are also displaced.

For the first time in decades, Gaza’s children have faced the devastating reality of a disrupted school year. UNICEF’s TLS programme offers a glimmer of hope, providing classrooms, essential learning materials, and trained educators to ensure children stay on track with their education.

Our commitment to Gaza continues. RLAF’s ‘Humanitarian Aid for Gaza 2024’ fundraising campaign is ongoing from 18 September to 13 December 2024, and we encourage everyone to keep contributing to this vital effort. ❤️
