UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is a global organization working to save lives, protect rights and build a better future for refugees, internally displaced communities and stateless people. They work to ensure that everybody has the right to seek asylum and find refuge from violence or persecution.

UNHCR staff in 137 countries are working to ensure the protection of people forced to flee, strengthen access to education and livelihoods, and provide life-saving support like shelter, water, food and health care. All funds raised will be channelled through UNHCR to support the delivery of urgent, life-saving assistance including shelter, clean water, food, emergency health and medical support, and psychosocial care to affected individuals and families across Sudan and the neighbouring countries.

The donation period would be held from 19 November 2025 to 3 December 2025.

It is because the permit that RLAF obtained from the Commissioner of Charities (CoC) is only applicable for the campaign date.

All net donations received and accounted for will be given to UNHCR after the end of the campaign period. UNHCR will do the necessary distributions.

Donations made under the ‘Sudan Emergency Appeal 2025’ campaign is eligible for 100% Tax Deduction under the Overseas Humanitarian Assistance Tax Deduction Scheme (OHAS).

The donation will be allocated for three critical areas of life-saving intervention: (i) Human Assistance and Protection, which includes the provision of safe shelter, aid, and psychosocial support for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV); the distribution of (ii) Core Relief Items such as essential survival kits containing blankets, cooking utensils, and clothing for newly displaced families; (iii) the implementation of WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) services, aimed at preventing the spread of infectious diseases such as cholera through the construction of emergency latrines and the distribution of hygiene kits.

All contributions are not considered as Zakat but as donations.
