“Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.” – Henry Ford
Last Friday evening was significant not only because #RLAFSG celebrated ten years in operation, but it also marked a decade of working together with many stakeholders — without whom, none of the success would have been made possible. We are grateful for having our event graced by DPM Heng Swee Keat and Minister Masagos Zulkifli. Their presence together with our guests and performances, made it all the more celebratory and significant.
The highlight of the event has to be the launching of three new projects for the coming year. Namely, we will be working together with the Singapore Red Cross Home for the Disabled on a six-month long disability project, with Inner Strength And Gifts on a Kebun Baru Community Making Project as well as with Majulah Community and Humanity Heroes on a refugee empowerment project. Additionally, our volunteers will undergo more capability building programs such as understanding the refugee system and further facilitation and engagement skills.
The evening was made even more meaningful with the sharing by our volunteers and our partner from Mercy Relief on the previous projects we have worked together on. We were deeply moved by their inspiring and thoughtful perspectives.
Thank you everyone for growing your circles of #compass10n with us. Let’s move forward to continue the #bthebetteryou movement.
