On 8 January 2026, RLAF began the new year with a renewed commitment to sustainable recovery for communities devastated by the crisis in Gaza. In partnership with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC), the Aid for Gaza 2026 campaign focuses on restoring essential services and rebuilding critical infrastructure for the most vulnerable.
The ceasefire implemented in late 2025 has created a crucial window for action, an opportunity for the Singapore community to step forward and do more. Building on the overwhelming generosity shown in previous Gaza fundraising efforts, RLAF’s Aid for Gaza 2026 campaign is strategically focused on three urgent priorities:
- Shelter
- Education
- Psychosocial Support
Shelter
According to the United Nations (as of 31 October 2025), an estimated 81% of structures in Gaza have been damaged. This includes approximately 320,622 housing units and 125 hospitals and clinics that have been severely impacted. In addition, 89% of water and sanitation infrastructure has been damaged, while over 2,300 educational facilities have been destroyed.
The destruction has forced mass displacement. In 2025 alone, more than 37,000 Palestinians were displaced in the occupied West Bank, leaving families without safe shelter or adequate living conditions.
Through the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC), funds will support:
- The provision of tents and temporary shelters for displaced families
- The deployment of mobile health clinics to improve access to basic healthcare
- The establishment of community kitchens to provide hot meals and strengthen community self-reliance
ERC’s strategic presence at the Egypt-Gaza border and its strong logistical capabilities ensure the timely and effective delivery of aid, even in a highly constrained environment.
Education and Psychosocial Support
The human toll of the conflict is immense. According to UNICEF (2025), more than 169,000 people have been injured, many with life-altering wounds. Over 1.2 million children urgently require psychological support to begin healing from prolonged trauma.
This crisis has already begun to shape Gaza’s future in devastating ways:
- More than 17,000 children and adolescents have been separated from their families
- Nearly 658,000 children still lack regular access to education due to conflict and displacement
Through UNICEF, funds will support child-focused recovery interventions, including:
- Essential health services
- Temporary learning spaces
- Psychosocial support for displaced children and families
These interventions are guided by on-the-ground assessments and are designed to restore essential services, safeguard children’s wellbeing, and help families rebuild their lives with dignity.

A Coordinated Path to Recovery
Together with UNICEF and the Egyptian Red Crescent, RLAF is committed to delivering a coordinated, accountable, and holistic response. One that addresses both immediate humanitarian needs and early recovery priorities.
Aid for Gaza 2026 is more than emergency relief. It is a collective effort to restore stability, protect a generation, and help communities reclaim the foundations of everyday life.
