We’re back this year with another series of #theheartbeat! This month’s featured #RLAFSG volunteer is Hidayah Ahmad, 29 years old.
Q: How long have you been a volunteer with RLAF?
I’ve only ever volunteered with RLAF. Before that I didn’t really make much time for it. And it’s been over a year.
Q: What made you want to volunteer?
I first heard of RLAF from my lovely colleagues and thought of giving it a shot. I never looked back.
Q: How has your entire volunteering journey been?
Eye opening! Especially because #RLAFSG caters to different groups of people through the work they do.
Q: Where did you start volunteering and what keeps you to consistently volunteer?
I started out volunteering for local community involvement projects. At first I thought about how giving my time could balance out my deeds but it became something I enjoyed doing.
Q: How has volunteering with #RLAFSG benefitted you?
It forced me to come out of my comfort zone to mix with different groups of people I won’t normally do.
Q: If you could give some advice to other budding youth volunteers out there, what would you tell them?
Try out with RLAF!!! Or just try volunteering once. You never know, you may like it.
Thank you for going through with all three parts of this month’s #theheartbeat . We will be back with more!
