RLAF Expedites Handover of $1 Million from Funds Raised for Turkiye and Syria Earthquake Emergency Appeal to Hayrat Yardim
The Rahmatan Lil Alamin (Blessings to all) Foundation (RLAF), in collaboration with the Hayrat Yardim, a humanitarian aid organisation based in Turkiye, had organised a collection to support the immediate needs of communities affected by the earthquake in Turkiye and Syria. These needs include tents, hot meals, mattresses, blankets, and winter clothing sets.

- To facilitate rapid response to the immediate needs of victims and provide life-saving assistance as quickly as possible, upon approval from the Commissioner of Charities (CoC), RLAF expedited a partial handover of the funds raised to its ground partner even before the final consolidation of its fundraising is completed. A total of $1 million has been handed over to Hayrat Yardim for its on-ground operations.
- RLAF will subsequently transfer the remainder of funds collected following the final consolidation of the collection amount and further approval obtained from CoC. In compliance with regulations and as part of good governance of a registered charity conferred with an Institution of Public Character (IPC) status, RLAF will also go through audit certification and the report will be submitted to CoC.
Relief Operations
- The expedited handover will support relief operations by Hayrat Yardim’s search and rescue teams, emergency aid teams and mobile soup kitchens which have started work rapidly in the immediate aftermath of the earthquake to provide quick response to the needs of victims. RLAF would take this opportunity to thank all individuals and groups that have stepped forward to generously contribute to the campaign. We hope that through this effort, the contributions of the Singapore community will bring relief to ease the plight of communities affected by the earthquakes.
