About the Campaign
The Rahmatan lil Alamin (Blessings to all) Foundation (RLAF) embarks on this year’s ‘Blessings to All’ project to bring festive cheer to disadvantaged families and individuals. Some 7,000 households will receive a ‘Blessings to All’ gift bag filled with supplies such as grocery vouchers and items for personal hygiene, protection, and health care.
Following the success of SGUnited Buka Puasa project in 2020, and Blessings to All project in 2021, RLAF will once again, continue this meaningful effort in sharing the blessings of the month of Ramadan for vulnerable families and individuals regardless of race, faith or background. RLAF aims to raise $240,000 via www.giving.sg from 3 March to 25 April 2022, that will go towards providing a total of 7,000 ‘Blessings to All’ gift bags.
The ‘Blessings to All’ project is carried out with the support of the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (Muis), People’s Association Malay Activity Executive Committees Council (PA MESRA), M3@Towns, Singapore Association for the Visually Handicapped (SAVH), Inter-Racial and Religious Confidence Circle (IRCC) and Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SMCCI).
Additionally, RLAF aims to support the empowerment of persons with disabilities, including beneficiaries of SAVH, to achieve greater self-reliance by providing employment opportunities with the packing of the gift bags. By encouraging the spirit of giving and compassion in Singaporeans, RLAF also strives to forge a more inclusive society where no one is left behind.
The gift bag distribution will involve about 200 volunteers from the RLAF, Muis, PA MESRA, IRCC, Harmony Centre and our mosques. Officers and volunteers will be deployed over four weekends during the month of Ramadan at various distribution points across Singapore.
One of the beneficiaries is Mr Michael Neo, 48, who has been suffering from vision problems for the past 10 years shared, "I am happy to get this job opportunity because it gives me the opportunity to go out as well. At the same time, I can contribute my energy and time to charity," said the former warehouse supervisor who is now out of work due to the pandemic.
