22 October 2017

Today, we celebrate RLA Day 2017. About 300 people came to Masjid Yusof Ishak as this 12th annual tradition brings various communities, the youth, volunteer organisations as well as grassroots and mosque activists to come together for a cause.

The Harmony Walk saw participants carried bags of groceries for distribution to the poor and needy families residing at Champions Way. About 100 food hampers were distributed, an initiative to connect the mosque, volunteers and nearby residents to assist and befriend the less fortunate.

Post walk, our participants and partners hosted residents from the Bukit Batok Home for the Aged, Ren Ci Nursing Home, Sun Love Marsiling Neighbourhood Link, Pertapis Children Home, Thye Hua Kwan Moral Welfare Home and Ain Society to a breakfast reception. Guest-of-Honour and Minister-in-Charge of Muslim Affairs Dr Yaacob Ibrahim commented that he is thankful for effort the Foundation has done to ensure sustainability of the Blessing-to All movement.

He further commended the effort that the Foundation undertook to build capacities of youths in the areas of humanitarian and community development work. He was happy to see youths from different backgrounds coming together and learning from each other today at the ‘We Are Youth Activist' Sharing Session, which was held concurrently at the mosque.
