RLA Foundation Singapore and Singapore Red Cross are jointly organising a Psychology First Aid training on Sat 20 October.

This 9-hrs classroom-based training course is designed to provide an introductory knowledge and skills in providing basic psychological first aid to persons affected by crisis. It aims to equip learners with basic competencies to recognise signs of stress.

 

Participants will be able to :

 Define and differentiate different types of crisis events
 Recognise signs of stress
 Describe possible ways to manage and cope with stress and emotional distress
 Define what is Psychological First Aid (PFA)
 Apply PFA in everyday life and emergencies
 Establish a human connection in a non-intrusive and compassionate manner

 

The training is open to all community development and humanitarian volunteers. The course is participatory in nature and learners are encouraged to actively participate in activities such as role-plays, case studies, group discussing, brainstorming etc.
